Funeral luncheons are provided by donations from parishioners. The parish hosts a funeral luncheon if the deceased was a member of our parish.

The Prayer Line Ministry is a ministry here at St. Catherine’s where the members pray one week a month for the needs of others.

“I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were blazing!” These are the frightening words Jesus spoke to His disciples in today’s Gospel from Luke.

As you look on your calendar for Monday, August 15, some of you might automatically think that you need to go to Mass. We do celebrate the Assumption, but it is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year.

Today’s Gospel reading from Luke emphasizes the theme of “preparation.” Jesus warns the disciples to be prepared for the second coming of the Lord.
