Dear Parishioners,
Are you tired of waiting? Normally, we would be thinking about this during the days of Advent. But sometimes we also feel this way when we get to the 5th Sunday of Lent. There are still two more weeks until Easter Sunday. We are probably ready to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection and Easter Sunday once again. Yet, it’s not time. We still need to see how we can continue to live our faith and wait for that joyous day to arrive. Some of the holiest days of the year are coming up. Trying to be holy and grow in our faith is the hard part of all of this.
Looking ahead, next week is Palm Sunday. If you haven’t done so, please check our schedule for Holy Week and Easter. There’s still time to go to confession and there are two more penance services left in our area. Start to get your baskets ready to bless your food for Easter on Holy Saturday morning.
As we find ourselves at the 1st weekend of April, we also see the renewal in the world around us. The flowers start popping up out of the ground. The trees start to bud. We want that for ourselves as well. This is one of the reasons that I love the four seasons that we have in Michigan. They remind us of how each one of these seasons also plays a role in our faith life. As new life begins to bloom around us, may we also discover a renewed spirit of faith within ourselves. In just two weeks, our Catechumens and Candidates will enter the Church at the Easter Vigil. Please pray for them and the renewal that they are experiencing in this journey of faith that is leading them to Easter.
May these days of Lent continue to renew us!
Thanks for reading!
