We are so happy that your family is preparing to celebrate the baptism of your child as a new member of the St. Catherine of Siena parish family!
If this is your first child, we do require that you take a baptism preparation class prior to the baptism. If possible, it's recommended that childcare arrangements be made to allow both of the parents to attend; if there is an issue with this, please let the parish office know so they can assist. The class is a one time session that lasts approximately one hour, and is held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00p in the main church building. If you know that this date will not work for you, please let the parish office know and they will work to reschedule the class with you and the facilitator. Sponsors are certainly welcome, but not required to attend.
*Please fill out the online baptism registration form completely including your sponsor(s) information. Baptism dates are scheduled when all information is received.

Parent and Godparent information:
Couples seeking a baptism for their child must have been married in the Catholic Church or have received the proper dispensations. Married couples who have not received the Sacrament of Marriage in the Church, single parents or unmarried couples are welcome to have their child baptized in the faith, but are asked to schedule an appointment to meet with the pastor prior to scheduling the baptism.
Parents must select one practicing Roman Catholic godparent who is in good standing with the Church. If two godparents are selected, they must be of opposite gender. A non-Catholic, baptized Christian may be chosen as a Christian Witness, as long as one godparent is Catholic.
A Catholic godparent:
must have received the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
must be at least 16 years old.
must be living an exemplary life consistent with faith and morals as taught by the Roman Catholic Church.
must be actively practicing the faith.
if married, must have been married in the Catholic Church or have received the proper dispensations.
The chosen Catholic godparent is asked to provide the sponsor affidavit below, signed and sealed by their pastor, at least ten days prior to the baptism. This form may be returned to the parish office either as a hard copy (hand-delivered or mailed directly to the parish) or as a scanned copy via email.
To avoid any scheduling conflicts, it is strongly encouraged to submit the sponsor affidavit(s) no later than ten days prior to the baptism. If not submitted in a timely manner, the baptism may need to be rescheduled.
