Dear Parishioners, This second Sunday of Easter is also known as Divine Mercy Sunday. As we celebrate this Easter Season, we realize that God’s mercy is integral to everything we celebrate about this season. The Resurrection of Jesus shows us just how far God would go to show mercy to all of humanity. His love and His forgiveness would be so great and complete that our sins would be forgiven, and the gates of Heaven became a possibility; where we could be immersed in the love of God for all eternity. Two of our neighboring parishes (St. Monica and St. Mary in Paw Paw) will be offering Penance services this Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. with priests from the Kalamazoo area that will be available to hear your confession. May the words of mercy be on our lips this weekend: “Jesus, I trust in you!” As we find ourselves in the Easter Season, it’s also time that we start thinking about the Bishop’s Annual Appeal for 2024. This will be Bishop Lohse’s first appeal as a Bishop. Please keep the work of our new Bishop and the ministries that this appealsupports in your prayers! This also means that if you still have a pledge payment to make for the Bishop Appeal 2023, it will be due by the end of April. Our parish goal for this upcoming 2024 appeal is $281,100. We did make our goal in pledges this past year in 2023 and we are hoping that everyone can still honor their pledges so that we can pay last year’s amount in full. Thank you for your generosity that makes this possible each year. Additional information about the Bishop’s Appeal 2024 and pledge information will be available in the coming weeks. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
