Dear Parishioners, For those of you who were able to make the Bishop Lohse’s Mass on Saturday, January 27th, I hope that you enjoyed a chance to meet and talk with him. It’s been a busy six months for him as he gets used to being a Bishop of a diocese and has been making rounds at all the parishes. At least he’s used to snow, especially since he lived in the Erie Diocese in Pennsylvania! A special thank you to the Knights for hosting the Chili Cook-Off after the Bishop’s Mass. There’s nothing like a nice cup of chili during the winter months! The Marian Hall restrooms are now being worked on. It’s time to replace the cracked floors, the worn-out stall wall partitions, and the counter tops, which were pulling away from the walls. Please be patient while all this work is going on and use the single bathrooms on the West side of the church or the bathrooms in Trinity Hallway. Work will continue for a few more weeks. We had initially hoped to do this work while we were working on the kitchen in Marian Hall, but the kitchen project ended up taking more time and money than we initially estimated. Now that it’s February, it’s officially time to start thinking about Lent. Ash Wednesday is in a week and a half. You may notice that this day of Fast and Abstinence falls on February 14th (Valentine’s Day). This might make it a little easier for you to remember that it’s Lent, but one will have to postpone their sweetheart dinner with their Valentine (or have it a little early on Mardi Gras)! Please check the bulletin as we publish our upcoming Lenten and Holy Week schedule. Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
