Dear Parishioners,
Over the past several months, everyone has become used to seeing the whale in the narthex. It brought a lot of smiles to people’s faces as well as curiosity from visitors. Now that our Vacation Bible School is over for this year, the whale has moved on as well.
We want to thank all of our many volunteers that make our VBS program so successful year after year. Our staff always puts a lot of time and effort into making it a fun learning experience so that our youth can engage with their faith. A special thank you to our sponsors who help the parish defray the cost of this program. May the Lord bless all of you for sharing your talents and resources with us!
Now that Vacation Bible School is over, it also means that we are now entering into the second half of the summer break and getting closer to the start of another school year. Our focus now shifts to our fall programs and events. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 8th for our annual parish picnic. It also means it will be time to sign up for our Faith Formation classes and programs as well as those who might be interested in joining the Catholic faith.
Fr. Joseph has been a part of our parish community and staff for several weeks now. If you haven’t had a chance to meet him or introduce yourself, please do so! It still seems so strange to both Fr. Joseph and me that we are not currently living here at the parish due to the tornado damage. Keep praying that all of our restoration and rebuilding efforts keep moving forward!
Thanks for reading!
Fr. Mark
