Dear Parishioners,
This weekend the Church celebrates one of the great mysteries of our faith: The Holy Trinity. We find that God reveals Himself to us, through the Trinity: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In our life of faith, we discover that we need the guidance of all three. It often boggles our minds that the Holy Trinity works seamlessly in this unity and is one God. Yet it makes our experience of God that much richer and at different times in our life, we can relate to or need the different aspects of the Trinity to help us through any difficulties or problems of life. In His wisdom, God knew exactly what we needed.
A special blessing this weekend on all our fathers and grandfathers. Both of my grandfathers died by the time that I was five. But they both definitely made a great impression on me because they are some of my earliest and fond memories of my younger years. Let us be thankful for not only the memories of how our fathers and grandfathers guided us, but let us especially remember them in prayer on this Father’s Day weekend.
Our students and children are enjoying their summer break. Summer officially starts this upcoming Friday. Yet as most of us realize, it seems like summer always goes so quickly and then it will be time for school again. For those who need to have classes in the faith or prepare for the Sacraments, please don’t forget to register for the classes this Fall for both our Children’s and Youth Formation programs. Please check the website or call our office for more information. Also, we are now just a month away from Vacation Bible School. A special thank you to all our catechists and volunteers that make these programs so successful.
If you were here during the past few weeks during the day, you may have noticed that we continue to have a lot of service trucks working each day. I mentioned some time ago that we needed to replace the computer control system for the heating and cooling system for the main building. I know that some have pointed out to me that things haven’t been working right for quite some time. One forgets how large the building is and all the rooms that need to be taken care of. Thanks for your patience as we bring each section of the building online and we will see a nice rebate from Consumers Energy for completing this work. We will also enjoy some future savings as we will be able to control and regulate things much better with this system.
Thank you to everyone that has made a pledge to the 2025 Bishop’s Appeal. However, we are still needing your help to reach our goal for the Bishop’s Appeal. Our goal is within sight! I hope we can make our goal by the end of this month. Once again, I apologize that some of you did not receive your mailings about the appeal from the diocese. If that is the case, please use the pledge envelopes that you will find at the entrances or pledge online at the diocesan website.
Thanks for reading!
