Dear Parishioners, On the first day of the week, Jesus changed everything! Today we celebrate a day in the history of the world that changed everything. No longer would sin and death have any power. For those of us who are cradle Catholics, we grew up celebrating this wondrous day and wouldn’t know what life would be without an Easter to look forward to. But to the Apostles, it was a day like no other. They started to understand what Jesus had been telling and teaching them. These wonders were beyond belief. Yet, belief in Jesus and His Resurrection was what made all of these things possible. As we celebrate this Easter, may we experience the same joy and wonder in our hearts as what filled the hearts of the Apostles on that Easter morning. Our Easter Sunday celebration should remind us that God can surprise us in many ways and change the way we see and live our lives in this world. In just a few weeks, on April 13th, Bishop Lohse will be having his first ordinations as a bishop. This will be a class of permanent deacons that has been preparing and studying for the past several years. Their ordinations were supposed to happen last summer, but with the transition of bishops, this was postponed. One of our parishioners, Doran Lefaive is in this class. Please keep him and all his classmates in prayer as they prepare for their upcoming ordinations. Also, God willing, one of our seminarians will be approaching his transitional diaconate in May (and hopefully his priesthood ordination next year). On behalf of our clergy and staff here at St. Catherine of Siena, we would like to wish you and your families a Holy and Blessed celebration of Easter! Thanks for reading! Fr. Mark
