Donuts are back! I know that I make many people happy when I say (or write) these words! A special thank you to all of our parishioners who continue to get up early to bake and frost the donuts for all of us. A donut makes our Sunday social time much more fun! Stop by after the Sunday morning Masses to enjoy and to meet more of our parishioners.
At least I didn’t have to move this time (I already moved into this rectory twice)! You may have noticed that Bishop Lohse asked me to be the Canonical Administrator for our Hackett Prep High School as of the 1st of this month of September. Ironically, I graduated from there 41 years ago. It seems strange that I am now part of the part of the school that formed me during my teenage years. I guess it just proves that you never know what life will bring! I think my experience with all the schools that I have been pastor of during my 32 years as a priest qualified me for this. Of course, this also means that there really isn’t any change in my status here as your pastor. You might just see me driving up and down Oakland or Westnedge a few more times on the way to Kilgore Road!
Remember Fr. Bill? I still keep in touch with him frequently during the week. He’s still thinking about everyone here and always appreciates your prayers as well. He likes his residence and his health is stable. Of course, this is one of his favorite seasons (besides Christmas that is) that he is glued to the TV watching his Packers play. He loves being so close to the stadium at his residence in Green Bay. (After all those years in Michigan, we never convinced him to be a Lions fan!).
Finally, as all our Fall programs have begun, we are always in need of volunteers to help around the altar with serving, lecturing, ushering and other ministries. Our other programs also welcome volunteers. Please contact our office for more information.
