Dear Parishioners,
It’s the middle of July and that means that it is time for us to have our Vacation Bible School. True North, our theme for this year’s VBS, starts on Monday and will last until Friday the 18th. This summer event takes months of planning and preparation, with so much that goes into making it a success. As we get ready to do VBS once again, a special thank you to everyone who has supported us with donations and of course all of our many volunteers that make it possible for us to have VBS. I appreciate all these behind-the-scenes efforts that get us ready and all those who are able to spend time with our youth throughout the coming week. Please keep our staff, volunteers and youth in your prayers in the coming week for a successful year!
Since last weekend was a holiday weekend, I didn’t get a chance to thank everyone for their parish support throughout the past fiscal year. Our fiscal year goes from July 1st until June 30th of the following year. This past year of 2024-2025 was a “tornado recovery year.” Due to all the damage, especially with things that were not covered by insurance, we had items that needed to be replaced or repaired. All this is captured in the past fiscal year as well as projects and repairs that we already had planned to do. We will have a final summary of this soon that will be published in a future edition of the bulletin.
In the weeks following the conclusion of VBS, we still have some projects that we were not able to get to last summer and now we finally will be able to start. As the schedule for work on these projects is confirmed, I will keep you informed. By the time fall rolls around, I hope we are finally caught up on all the things we planned to do last year!
Thanks for reading!
