Cold Winters Need Warm Hearts! - This winter is sure to be a time of increased suffering for many people in Southwestern Michigan. Why is providing Energy Assistance so Important? Over 583,000 Michigan households were more than 30 days past due on utility bills last December. 40% of these are low-income or senior households. High energy burdens form many to choose between heat, food, medicine and rent. The Home Heating Assistance Program provides emergency heating assistance, to anyone in the nine counties of the Diocese of Kalamazoo. Last season the program aided 261 households, keeping them warm through the cold winter. Please consider making a donation directly anytime at www.ccdok.org/donate
