Today’s readings ask us to access our priorities. Are we more concerned with what we can accumulate in this life, which is temporary? Or are we more concerned with our next life, which is forever? Let that sink in for a moment…forever!
I know that all of us are hoping and wishing for a more normal fall schedule this year. We are certainly planning for this at the parish level. If your children or grandchildren are in Faith Formation classes, please make sure you check out the registration information online. Also, mark your calendars for the Parish Picnic on Sunday, September 11.
Multiple ministers are needed for the Nursing Home ministry. Please contact Alana Murray at [email protected] if you would like to join this rewarding ministry.
Today’s readings give us two things to reflect on: God’s generosity and the power of prayer. In the first reading, we see Abraham asking God to spare the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; he acknowledges God’s greatness and his own lowly position, but then he proceeds to ask God for what he wants.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the volunteers that helped make our Vacation Bible School 2022 a success as well as those who helped us with donations to make this possible.
Meet the Walk Family! Ania and Rob have been married for 16 years with a fond memory of having their marriage prep classes done here at St. Catherine's! Their son Sebastian (13) enjoys sports, especially soccer and daughter Milena (6) enjoys horseback riding and gymnastics.
Did you know we should carefully prepare our bodies for Mass? Far from just a weekly routine, the celebration of Mass is the center and the summit of the whole Christian life where we witness the miracle of the Most Holy Eucharist, the transformation of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told us that whatever we do for others, we do for Him. God is extremely generous and pays back in abundance anything we do for Him…that sharing of time, treasure and talent will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.
For the second time in several months, the font in the main church sprung a leak. This time the leak was not in the mechanical room (where several pipes needed to be replaced). The leak seemed to be coming from the font itself and we have had some repairs done on the inside of the font
Today’s Gospel parable is one we’ve heard many times before, the story of the Good Samaritan. In the story, both a Jewish priest and a Levite (another Jewish religious official) pass the injured man by on the opposite side of the road, whereas the Samaritan helps him and sees to his needs.
Volunteers are great! So many volunteers have been working on preparing for our Vacation Bible School next week. It’s nice to see that things are coming together, and we will be able to host VBS for the first time in two years.
