Please consider donating empty plastic Easter Eggs, or donated filled ones. We also need volunteers to help us fill the over 1000 estimated eggs we need for this hunt. Contact [email protected] for more information.
God is always waiting to pour out His Grace on us, but it is up to us to ask with sincere hearts. May we use this Lenten season to honestly look at our lives to see where we have failed and ask God’s forgiveness and help.
If you’re able to help with your time, talent, or financially, please contact us at [email protected] OR signup through our website to volunteer at: https://stcatherinesiena.org/vbs.
We all know how difficult forgiveness can be; God does too. That’s why He told us to pray for our enemies. It takes time, but it’s hard to remain angry with someone when you are praying for them. If you find that hard to do, ask Jesus for help. He certainly knows about forgiving people who wronged Him, and His grace can help you if you just ask.
Next weekend, we will have our Lenten retreat. Fr. Tom will be our retreat director for the day retreat on Saturday February 25. Please RSVP by Ash Wednesday, February 22, if you are planning to attend.
St Catherine’s Knights of Columbus will be offering simple dinners on March 3, 10, 24, and 31 in Marian Hall. For more information or if you have any questions please contact John Byrnes at (269) 779-3669.
The psalm acknowledges that while we may want to live as God instructed us, we are weak and need God’s help to do so. Turning to God as the psalmist says, and asking Him to ”Give me discernment, that I may observe your law and keep it with all my heart” is the way forward. This is a positive action, that will bear positive outcomes.
We will be offering three Masses on Ash Wednesday and the distribution of Ashes at each of these Masses. Next weekend in the bulletin we will feature a full schedule of upcoming Lenten events and spiritual experiences (Retreat, Stations, Lenten talks) that we will be offering during Lent 2023 here at St. Catherine.
The need is there, and we don’t have to look hard to recognize it if we open our eyes…and it isn’t burdensome to help if we open our hearts. God works through us to help those in need.
