Unlike past years, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation.

It may seem at times that we are sinking hopelessly under insurmountable problems. But just like Peter, if we refocus our attention on Jesus and call out to Him in prayer, we will be saved!

Just a reminder that this coming Tuesday is a Holy Day of Obligation, the Solemnity of the Assumption.

Jesus gives us the most miraculous gift of all when He offers Himself to each of us in the Holy Eucharist at every Mass. As we receive this spiritual nourishment for our daily lives as disciples, may we repeat the words of St Peter, “Lord, it is good that we are here.”

August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption, will be a Holy Day of Obligation this year. We will have a vigil Mass on Monday the 14 and a morning Mass and an evening Mass on the 15 itself.
