Here’s where the simple law gets difficult: there are no exceptions and no limits! Everyone is our neighbor, and we are always called to help. We are never done acting with love.
This coming week, we will be celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. Please join us for a Vigil Mass at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, October 31st, or at 9:15 a.m. or 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1st.
How much do we render of our lives to God? Do we insist on trying to understand God’s unknowable ways before we relinquish control and just say “Yes, Lord!”?
As we find ourselves in these last weeks of October, Halloween is also on everyone’s mind (especially those who like candy and costumes). For the Church, this celebration of All Hallow’s Eve means that we celebrate a Holy Day, the Solemnity of All Saints Day.
Will we be worthy to attend the wedding feast in heaven? No one knows the day or the hour when we will be called to account for our response to the invitation. Will we be ready?
Fr. Jacob is the priest who, along with our deacons, will be visiting the area nursing homes and care facilities. If you know of someone in our parish area who is not on our list of places to visit, or has become homebound, please call the office and we will arrange visitation.
Beginning Wednesday, November 8, at 7:00 pm, Adult Faith Formation will host a five-week series on Fr. Michael Gaitley’s, MIC, 33 Days to Morning Glory.
